Juvenile Justice Class Assists Knox County Youth

Students from Dr. Doug Devaney’s fall quarter Juvenile Justice class recently worked together on a class project designed to assist a local youth detention agency.  A book drive was held by the students for the Richard Bean Detention Center and the facility’s library.  A very large box of books was delivered to the center’s director, Mr. Richard Bean.  In a show of gratitude for the donation, the students were given an extensive tour of the detention facility.  Mr. Devaney commented that the project gave the students an opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at the juvenile justice system in Knoxville.
