Academic Calendar

 

The Physician Assistant program is 27 months in length and consists of a 15-month didactic phase, followed immediately by a 12-month clinical learning phase. Each new class of students starts the program in the Fall Quarter of each year. The start date for the next class will be around late September / early October 2011. Specific quarter dates and holidays will be given during the PA program orientation. The academic calendar is listed below.


Didactic Phase (15 months)

Fall Quarter (October – December)

     Gross Anatomy (6 quarter credits)
     Neuroanatomy (3 quarter credits)
     Human Physiology (3 quarter credits)
     Health Assessment and Physical Examination (6 quarter credits)

Winter Quarter (January – March)

     Medical Pathology and Genetics (4 quarter credits)
     Epidemiology and Public Health (3 quarter credits)
     Clinical Assessment and Management I (5 quarter credits)
     Pharmacotherapeutics I (3 quarter credits)
     Clinical Laboratory Medicine (2 quarter credits)

Spring Quarter (April – June)

     Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine (3 quarter credits)
     Women’s Health (3 quarter credits)
     Evidence Based Medicine (2 quarter credits)
     Clinical Assessment and Management II (6 quarter credits)
