Dr. Esters brings over 10 years of extensive hospital experience as a Clinical Pharmacist to South College School of Pharmacy. Most recently, Dr. Esters was Director of Pharmacy at a local Healthcare System in Knoxville, Tennessee, where he was able to further his passion by developing a medication safety program. Dr. Esters will be joining Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, as the Medication Safety Officer. While working as the Medication Safety Officer, he will be working in collaboration with the Pharmacy Department, Nursing, Quality, Risk Management, and Leadership to further improve medication and patient safety within the health-system. Dr. Esters will represent South College School of Pharmacy as a member of the THA/TCPS Pharmacist Taskforce on Medication Safety.
Dr. Esters received his BS in Chemistry from Campbellsville University and his PharmD from Mercer University Southern School of Pharmacy.
South College's West campus Auditorium will be the site of a town hall meeting on Thursday, April 17th, to discuss the problem of bullying.
