Pharm.D., PhD, CGP
Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice
Dr. Heath Ford joined the faculty of South College School of Pharmacy in August 2013. Dr. Ford graduated from the University of Georgia (UGA) College of Pharmacy in 2007 and completed general practice and drug information specialty residencies in 2008 and 2009, respectively, at the Columbus Regional Medical Center in Columbus, Georgia. He worked for approximately two years at a long-term care pharmacy in Dublin, Georgia, where he initiated drug information, clinical pharmacokinetics, and medication safety services for nursing facility affiliates throughout the state. During his brief tenure in Dublin, Dr. Ford gained board certification in geriatric pharmacy practice. His keen interest in performing scholarly research, however, led him back to UGA, where he completed a doctor of philosophy (PhD) degree in clinical and administrative pharmacy. Dr. Ford coordinates the drug information and pharmacy management courses at South College. His research, in general, focuses on the roles of allied health practitioners, particularly pharmacists, during disasters.
