Clinical Instructor of Pharmacy Practice
Dr. Lorraine McIntosh has over 13 years of pharmacy experience in both retail and ambulatory care settings. As a retail pharmacist, Lorraine assumed the role of pharmacy manager, trained many incoming pharmacists, served as preceptor for numerous pharmacy schools, and practiced the art of patient care. In 2009 Lorraine discovered an opportunity to specialize in the field of oncology at Tennessee Cancer Specialists. Lorraine opened a retail pharmacy within the cancer center, where she continues to dispense medications and provide drug information to cancer patients and their families. Besides managing the pharmacy, she also collaborates with oncologists, nurse practitioners and the nursing staff to optimize patient outcomes. In addition, she works with the information technology department to standardize clinical applications within the electronic medical record, serves as secretary of the P&T committee, and provides MTM services to patients. Lorraine also volunteers with local cancer organizations and is a member of several professional pharmacy groups. At South College, Lorraine teaches the Oncology Pharmacotherapy course and precepts IPPE and APPE students at Tennessee Cancer Specialists.
