Senior Medical Director

Current Position and Professional Experience:

Dr. Seaton currently serves as the Senior Medical Director for the School of Physician Assistant Studies at South College in Knoxville, Tennessee, where he has achieved the rank of Associate Professor. He joined the faculty in 2008, after over 30 years of medical practice in Knoxville as a board certified clinical anesthesiologist. His clinical affiliations included active medical staff privileges at the University of Tennessee Medical Center, Children's Hospital, and Parkwest Hospital, all in Knoxville, Tennessee. His duties included serving as anesthesia department chair at Parkwest and section chief for anesthesia at Children's Hospital. He is a past president of the Tennessee Society of Anesthesiologists.

Professional Education:

Dr. Seaton obtained his medical degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tennessee. His Bachelor of Science degree was earned in Liberal Arts at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. His residency in anesthesiology was completed at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville.

  • Course Director and Instructor for Clinical Geriatrics
  • Instructor for the Clinical Summative Course
  • Examiner for the end of rotation evaluations of clinical students
  • Panel member for student Capstone Projects
