Dr. Eytan Klausner joined South College School of Pharmacy in 2011 after 15 years of professional pharmacy experience in practice, education and research. Dr. Klausner’s preclinical and clinical research at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem School of Pharmacy concentrated on the design and characterization of novel gastro-retentive dosage forms for riboflavin, L-dopa and furosemide. Findings of this research were patented and led to the establishment of Intec Pharma, a publicly traded biopharmaceutical company with a focus on gastric retention technology. A Post-Doctoral Fellowship in the Department of Biomedical Engineering of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine further prepared Dr. Klausner for innovative work in gene therapy with an emphasis on the cornea. Dr. Klausner’s recent teaching efforts in pharmaceutics have benefited students at Midwestern University Chicago College of Pharmacy. Dr. Klausner received an NIH National Research Service Award and is a contributor and reviewer for several journals in the field of gene and drug delivery.
