For over 40 years, as a practitioner and an entrepreneur, Wayne Tarrants practiced and helped shaped the pharmacy profession in Tennessee and 7 other surrounding states as well as the state of Alaska. He practiced in retails, hospital, clinics, and nursing homes. His healthcare staffing company provided many pharmacists with jobs in 10 states. In 1971, ahead of his time, Wayne along with a pharmacist from Texas had the vision of computerized pharmacy system, they started promoting and selling computer hardware and software to automate and revolutionize the practice. Wayne’s futuristic vision includes the development of the pharmacist of the future as a primary healthcare provider. Wayne’s experience, care for the profession, and compassion for students provide an unmatched learning and advising opportunity to pharmacy students in our community and the United States at large.
