Gayle Cole

RN, MSN, CNM

Core Faculty

Current Position and Professional Experience:

Gayle Cole currently serves as the Program Director for the Women’s Health class in the School of Physician Assistant Studies at South College in Knoxville, Tennessee. Gayle has over twenty years of experience in the field of women’s health, initially as a registered nurse, then as a certified nurse-midwife. She has been teaching the Women’s Health class at South College since the inception of the program. Her clinical experience includes all areas of women’s health, as well as experience in emergency medicine, correctional medicine, and critical care medicine.


Professional Education:

Gayle Cole is a 1999 graduate of Vanderbilt University where she obtained a Masters of Science in Nursing degree, Lake City Community College where she obtained her Associate in Arts degree, and Kaskaskia College where she received her Associate Degree in Nursing in 1983.


Teaching Responsibilities:

  • Course Director and primary instructor: Women’s Health
  • Lecturer: Emergency Medicine
  • Course Assistant: CAM I, II, and III and HAPE
