Born in North Carolina, USA, Ms. Kay Trigiano joined South College as an adjunct in June 2008. She became a full time faculty in October 2008. Ms. Trigiano graduated with a Master’s degree in Food Science and a graduate minor in Biochemistry from North Carolina State University in 1981.
Ms Trigiano spent many years working as an analytical chemist in the Department of Food Science and Technology at UT in the area of lipid chemistry and flavor volatile analysis using GC, GCMS, and HPLC. In addition she taught the lab section of the course on Instrumental Analysis of Food Products, other Food Science labs and analytical procedures to graduate students. She also spent some time working in the food industry in product development and quality control labs. She has spent recent years teaching general inorganic chemistry labs at Pellissippi State.
Ms. Trigiano brings to the classroom 20 years of experience in analytical chemistry, product development, quality control and teaching general inorganic chemistry labs. .
